  • Academic Language Therapy Association - Dallas, Texas. Academic language therapy helps develop effective secondary language and written communication skills through proficiency in reading and writing. Individual academic language therapy programs are designed to meet the needs of those who have been diagnosed with specific dyslexia, dysgraphia, developmental reading disorder, disorders of written language, and language learning disability as well as other related learning problems. Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALT) are qualified to treat children and adults diagnosed with written-language learning disabilities.
  • International Multi-sensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) - Dallas, Texas. Advocating high professional standards in the preparation of Multisensory Structured Language specialists; establishing criteria of program excellence; evaluating and accrediting both independent post-secondary educational programs which offer comprehensive on-site training courses, and programs located within other already accredited institutions.
  • Texas Scottish Rite Hospital - Richardson, Texas. Dyslexia Training Program - an instructional videotape series presenting a curriculum specifically designed to meet the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Dyslexia Program descriptors. This linguistic program is systematic, sequential and cumulative. Also Literacy Training and other programs.
  • Texas Scottish Rite Journal - 'Combatting Dyslexia - The Hidden Hardship' - The 1996 school year of the Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas began by enrolling 44 apprehensive but hopeful children with dyslexia in a two-year, multi-structured program designed to teach them to read, spell, and write properly. Sixteen other dyslexic children who applied for admission were not enrolled. A shame? Not really -- not anymore.
  • Austin Scottish Rite Learning Center - The Scottish Rite Learning Center of Austin has, since March 1989, offered a program of screening and instruction for children, 8 to 12 years old, with dyslexia. Once the child is determined to be at risk for dyslexia, and eligibility for the program is established, special classes are available at no cost to the child's family.
  • Access Counseling Referrals and Resources - throughout Texas - education of parents regarding dyslexia and methods to support their child, resources utilized through the educational environment, support groups and therapists familiar with the condition as a support/information resource.
  • International Dyslexia Association - Austin area branch.
  • International Dyslexia Association - Dallas area branch.
  • International Dyslexia Association - Houston area branch.
  • Learning Disabilities Association of Texas - a nationally affiliated non-profit parent/professional organization chartered in 1963 to promote the education and general welfare of individuals with learning disabilities. LDAT membership includes parents, educators, adults with learning disabilities and professionals from a variety of related fields.
  • Learning Disabilities Association - Richardson Chapter - a support and advocacy organization of volunteer parents and professionals devoted to promoting public awareness of learning disabilities.
  • Texas Reading Initiative - a comprehensive plan aimed at improving reading instruction in Texas.

  • Hidden Genius Learning Solutions - private non-denominational Christian day school servicing 4 year olds to 12th grade. The school is located in The Colony, Texas (just north-west of Dallas).
  • Neuhaus Education Center - provides a multisensory approach to teaching the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling to all students, including those students with language learning differences, especially dyslexia. (Bellaire)
